Give God a Gap

I journaled this in early 2020 after submitting a two weeks notice,
but it remains relevant as I follow His lead and chase God-dreams:

“Today I resigned from my job with no offer in sight.
I am leaving without knowing where God is leading.”

He faithfully filled that gap by placing me in my current position.
I look back at the gap and remember what God does when we give Him room to move.

When we take leaps of faith, we invite God to express His existence.
When we attempt the impossible, we allow God to make it possible.
When we bear our weaknesses, we show off His strengths.

When is the last time you made God room?
When is the last time you took a leap?
When is the last time you gave a gap?

We have so many examples to encourage us:

Noah built the ark, God made it rain.
David went to war, God beat Goliath.
Mary was willing, God gave her a son.
Ananias obeyed, Paul was saved.

I am not calling you to quit your job, but maybe God is asking you to:
-foster or adopt
-go back to school
-start a Bible study
-give a significant offering
-sign up for a mission trip

Take the first step and watch how God faithfully fills in the gaps.

He will take care of finances when the time is right.
He will open doors and create opportunities.
He will position you and prepare your heart.

But you have to make room for Him to move.

Do the thing He is calling you to do.
Build the ark and pray for the rain.
Show up with a slingshot in hand.

Believe that God is making a way in the waiting.
Believe that God will equip and empower you.
Believe that God is preparing a position.
Be ready to give Him glory in the gap.
